Aseer the Duke of Tiers is an artist of many talents. Born to Tamoanchan (Olmec) people of Louisiana, His family moved from the south before he was born. He is the first generation born in Brooklyn. Aseer grew up immersed in Hip hop culture in all its aspects. Aseer grabbed the mic at the age of 9 and hasn't stopped yet. In the year 2000, Aseer met the Empress of 10,000 Years at the home of M-1 from dead prez. The two mc's begun to hone their musical relationship and recorded their first E.P. "Journey to the Center of B.I.R.T.H" in 2003. Since then Aseer and the Empress have performed throughout the east coast. Their debut album entitled "The B.I.R.T.H Record" is slated for a spring release with Aseer and the Empress touring to promote the album. Aseer the Duke of Tiers is also an accomplished fine artist who has exhibited in galleries in New York and Japan. Art was not Asser's only passion as his love for knowledge led him to study in a P.H.D in Jurisprudence (International Law). He was successful in doing so in 2003 and began lecturing throughout the east coast at community centers alongside his teaching and consulting at Medgar Evers and Long Island University. Asser is also an advocate of father/family rights and has started a foundation throughout the tri-state area.
He had written for the source magazine under the name D.E.S.T.I.N.Y. He has self publish a book entitled the "Moorphogenetic Cosmogeny of Comics". His Next book is a Graphic novel called "Count Necrom's Dark comedy". This will usher in a new genre print media Asser calls Super-Scifantasy with a line of comics and action figures to follow. When asked about his name Asser he replies "The title The Duke of Tiers is representative of my ancestral lineage, and it sounds cool too."
The Duke and the Empress have also designed a line of clothing called "Regalia" consisting of t-shirts, jackets and Jeans. As avid cyclists, they also have designed classic low-rider bikes for different companies as well as their own. Ultimately the Duke hopes to use the language of music to provoke thought and a sense of nationality through music in those who listen.
